Starting in the winter term of 2013/2014, the Institute of Linguistics of the University of Stuttgart has at its disposal a Linguistics Laboratory for experimental research. The focus is on
The lab has six work places, each of which is equipped with a computer as well as headsets. These are used for perception studies, corpus studies, and teaching. Additional work places are dedicated to speech production research (being connected to a sound-attenuated recording booth and high-quality recording equipment) and eye-tracking studies (click here for detailed information).
All work places are equipped with the following softwares: R, Audacity, Praat, Python, and E-Prime.
The lab is also used for teaching, thus providing students with the opportunity to get hands-on experience in experimental research in linguistics.
